Teaching Philosophy:
I firmly believe that music should be an integral part of every persons life, in particular those of children. Music is recognized as a form of intelligence and plays a role in the development of a student’s self-expression both emotionally and creatively. Also, music provides students with the very special and unique opportunity to be artistic and creative through composition and improvisation. Moreover, music is universal in nature; children from every walk of life enjoy listening, playing, dancing or singing. Every culture can be identified by their ethnic music. Music itself is a unique discipline in that it can integrate many other subjects such as Science, Math, English and History into its curriculum, thus providing students with a wide-ranging, well-rounded education. Many other real world lessons can be taught and cultivated through music; teamwork, cooperation, tolerance, respect, and the building of independent and critical thinking skills, just to name a few. It is for these reasons that music is so important in every student’s education.

As a music educator, it is my duty to give students the tools they need to be successful. These skills range from theory, history to technical skills, performance practice and musicality. It is Inspiration that is a key element required to learn and master any art form. Therefore, I encourage my students to study great music of all genre's. I also strive in my own career to be an inspiration to my students through my own performance and development as a musician and music educator.
